What is difference between silicone wire and rubber wire ?

What is silicone wire?

Silicone high-temperature wire is made of high-quality silicone rubber and high-purity tinned copper stranded wire. It has the advantages of high and low temperature resistance and insulation. It is widely used in wiring in high-temperature places such as household appliances, lighting fixtures, industrial machinery, and electric heating products.

What is rubber wire?

Rubber wire, also known as rubber sheathed wire, is a double-insulated wire; the outer skin and insulating layer are made of rubber, and the conductor is pure copper. In the wire and cable industry, chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) is usually used as the insulating layer, and the temperature is -40°C~105°C. Due to its performance, the rubber wire can only be used in low-voltage and low-frequency environments

Silicone wire vs rubber wire comparison

Name

Temperature

Advantage

Disadvantage

Silicone wire

150-300℃

1.high temperature resistance
2.anti-aging
3.good elasticity
4.good insulation performance
5.Resistant to various oils

1.expensive cost
2.tend to harden
3.become brittle at low temperatures

Rubber wire

-40-105℃

1.Low cost
2.oil resistant

1.Not high temperature resistance
2.insulation performance not good
